Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

RIIUND305D - Recover underground equipment

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Plan and prepare to recover underground equipment

  1. Access, interpret and apply underground equipment recovery documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
  2. Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm details of the recovery requirements
  3. Access, interpret and apply environmental, geological and survey data
  4. Assist in the preparation of a recovery plan
  5. Estimate, obtain, transport and prepare materials and resources
  6. Prepare worksite to ensure a safe work environment
  7. Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
  8. Inspect and assess site conditions to determine if scaling is required and take action
  9. Arrange communications with other relevant site personnel
  10. Obtain and interpret emergency procedures and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
